IT Support Engineer Vacancy

Working for a small IT support company based in Whickham, you will be providing IT Technical Support for a variety of businesses and home users in the Newcastle/Gateshead area. The company is a young vibrant company who despite the economy is growing steadily.
The role will involve a mixture of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line support. An office based role with travel out into the field as required. You will receive incoming IT support calls from clients with problems relating to desktop software, email, and server applications. You will provide support by advising and directing people over the phone, dialling in remotely to fix problems or travelling to site to fix the problems hands on.
Essential Requirements / check list
- You must be able to demonstrate previous experience working in an IT Support role looking after the same type of technology (graduates with no experience will not be considered)
- You must be able to drive and have your own transport (expenses will be paid)
- It is essential that you are available to start within 7-20 days. Monday 13th July
- We are looking for permanent employees only, we will not consider contractors
- You must have experience with desktop and server maintenance, server and desktop installs, basic OS (operating system) support. Server applications e.g. IIS, MS Exchange, Active Directory.
- You will be familiar with network technologies such as WINS, DNS, TCP/IP
- Lots of enthusiasm - good communicator, well presented and punctual
- Be comfortable working on your own or as part of a team.
